Pastoral Care in 21st Century
Our in-depth experience across the education spectrum positions HCL to provide bespoke support for education providers to:
- Revise & update Safeguarding Policy & Procedures in line with recent legislation, guidance, research and developments in best practice
- Develop a Safeguarding Code of Practice to ensure that it provides practical help to all staff and volunteers to deal with, for example, behaviour management, physical contact, Sport, the Arts (drama, dance & music), acceptable and unacceptable behaviour
- Review management of confidentiality and record keeping in the context of pastoral care
- Meet the challenges of Child Protection and Technology and the requirements of the Data Protection Act 1998 & Freedom of Information Act 2000
- Review Safe Recruitment practice and measures for schools following the Bichard Inquiry into Child Protection
- Identify and deliver Professional Development and Training
- Provide an Independent view regarding sensitive issues (eg complaints and appeals processes)
HCL provides schools with sensitive feedback about their approach to safeguarding pupils, together with a clear appraisal of the strengths of existing documentation and suggestions on areas that could be further developed or improved.
